Don’t be fooled by the Bairro Alto address, this place couldn’t be further removed from the well-worn bars of the boho district, literally. This roof-top club lords above the city in its ivory tower, six floors up from the cobbled alleys below. It’s members or guest-list only, but entry can be arranged through the website or via email beforehand. Once passed the groundfloor security, guests are whisked up in the private elevator to one of Lisbon’ swishest venues. 300-degree views around Lisbon are afforded from the large balcony or floor-to-ceiling windows. The look is a melee of bronzed beauties, silk suits and local celebrities. Opened in 2008, owner Nuno Machado Lopes is trying to recreate that exclusive VIP feel found internationally in the Meatpacking District and Mayfair, and he’s clearly tapped into a market, as this place fills with rubberneckers nightly. It’s also a part of the World’s Finest Clubs, to which members have automatic access.
