Chiado
Designer boutiques and high-street favourites sit alongside traditional craftsmen in Chiado, the most popular of Lisbon’s shopping areas. The area underwent a transformation after a devastating fire in 1988, the most recent addition being the Armazens do Chiado shopping centre. There are plenty of good cafés for resting tired feet once you’ve shopped and dropped. Young teens tend to hang around the Rua Garratt on a Saturday afternoon.
