5cc Electricity Showroom
Adding to its repertoire of cocktail clubs over the city, 5cc matches a colourful and eccentric menu to its radical interior under the Electricity Showroom in hipster-hangout Hoxton.
The retro inspired interior is a modern take on a pub, with chesterfield banquettes, rough wooden tables, and patterned carpets – but then the floor-to-ceiling windows, long bar with tall stools and rose-tinted overhead lighting gives it that East London touch.
The real draw, as in all the 5cc properties are the cocktails – sometimes barrel-aged or making use of seasonal fresh produce and homemade ingredients. The Electricity Showrooms are about experimentation but also about knowing what works. If cocktails aren’t your thing – and you’re into some more rugged craft beers, then they have an extensive menu of draft and bottled IPAs and ales.
Like the drinks, the music is eclectic. There is soul, old school rock & roll and rhythm & blues and the glowing dance floor becomes all the more inviting with every batch of rock candy and rum barrels. For snacks and bites there’s a modern take on the pub menu with a few sliders thrown in for good measure.
