The Ampersand Hotel
Just a couple of minutes walk from the V&A and the National History Museum, the Ampersand Hotel in Kensington not only occupies an enviable spot in this neighbourhood of London, but the original and quirky touches make a stay here one to remember. Indeed, the design of its 111 rooms and suites are intended to reflect the Victorian values of “discovery and wonder” that you’ll find in the nearby museums and sites of the city. Depending on which size room you opt for, you could be surrounded by any one of the five central concepts: music, botany, geometry, astronomy or ornithology.
If you manage to extricate yourself from the bedrooms, The Drawing Rooms downstairs are the perfect rest-stop for a tired travellers, with patisseries, tartines and afternoon tea served by the open fire. For something stronger, however, we can highly recommend a trip to the Apero restaurant on-site for one of their V&A inspired, signature cocktails.
In all, the Ampersand is thoughtfully designed, faultlessly comfortable and a perfect choice for guests looking for a peaceful, yet slightly eclectic stay in the capital.
