Grain Store

Grain Store is found within the impressive King’s Cross regeneration project, located next to the arts faculty of the University of London in an old industrial warehouse. The brainchild of Bruno Loubet and the guys behind The Zetter and The Zetter Townhouse, who have already collaborated on Bruno’s eponymous restaurant in The Zetter – the emphasis of Grain Store is on the vegetables. The inventive menu literally puts vegetables first and the fish or meat accompaniments almost become secondary, for example: spiced mash, mint pickled cucumber, raw snowball turnips, broad beans and confit lamb belly. They have also brought in the mixology marvels of Tony Conigliaro – the cocktail meister of London, whose 69 Colebrooke Row is still one of London’s best kept secrets – to oversee the cocktail list and clever menu/cocktail pairings. Grain Store’s interior is all industrial-reclaimed-warehouse-chic – artisanal wooden tables, animal skins on the wall, and exposed air-conditioning ducts – suitable for it’s reclaimed warehouse setting. The bar and terrace are going to make it a great retreat for those who find themselves at Kings Cross with an hour or so to spare before catching the train.
