Wright Bros. Oyster House
Oyster suppliers to some of London’s finest restaurants, the Wright Brothers decided to open a little place of their own in 2005. On the edge of Borough Market, from where they also run their wholesale business, Wright Brothers is essentially a vibrant bar, just one that has the largest selection of oysters on sale you’re ever likely to see. Natives (in season) and rocks all year round from English, Irish, Scottish and French waters, they’re probably best enjoyed sitting at the bar with a glass of stout, porter or champagne. Moving beyond oysters – although before doing it’s worth mentioning that their oyster rarebit comes highly recommended – the menu tends to keep it simple and sticks mostly to seafood with dressed crab, smoked salmon and fish pie. The one meaty exception being the beef, Guinness and – you guessed it – oyster pie.
