Pink’s Hot Dogs
Known as the undisputed ‘hot dog to the stars’ – to which its voluminous photo collection of celebrity frankfurter fans will attest – this LA institution is known for its long dogs and longer lines. Founded in 1939 by Paul Pink, this exalted stand is always entertaining to drive by, as it is one of the most entertaining people-watching spots in town. Be it for the idiosyncratic menu choices (bacon-wrapped dogs or others named after Martha Stewart and Lord of the Rings) or for the way the renowned chili dog lingers with you long after you’ve headed home, a trip to Pink’s is always memorable. In fact, we dare say it is a requirement for any proper visit to the Southland.
