Chefs Jon Shook and Vinnie Ditolo don’t pull punches when it comes to satisfying carnivorous cravings. Shook and Ditolo are a manly catering duo dubbed the ‘Food Dudes’, and their palate-cosseting ways have won them plenty of fans in recent years. For Animal, they’ve opted to do away with too much pomp and circumstance in terms of décor – don’t look for a sign, or overdone details. just a wall-length bench and inviting copper bar. Instead, they explore the potent possibilities of seasonal ingredients and marvelous meat with inspired, weekly-changing menus. Indeed, as its name suggests, this is not a vegetarian paradise. but if you’re a fan of pork in all its permutations, get thee there. Much has been made of the bacon-enhanced chocolate for dessert. Don’t be afraid to admit that you’re just a little bit curious.
