Spago Beverly Hills
Hollywood’s elite has flocked to Spago Beverly Hills, a LA legend since day one – and it’s not because the place is ‘hot’ or ‘trendy,’ per se. It’s because it was built on stylish, sturdy legs. The jewel-toned space is stimulating and sumptuous, the year-round patio is bucolic, the servers know their stuff, and chef Wolfgang Puck’s a wizard. As fine an example of true California cuisine as you’re going to find, Spago Beverly Hills epitomises Puck’s rich, influential career. The seasonal dishes streaming from the bustling, exposed kitchen (seen through vibrant etched glass) employ the highest quality local produce and meat, and are boundary-pushing without being too ‘high concept.’ Fare ranges includes haute pizzas, kabobs, quesadillas, Chinese duck with plum sauce, fire-roasted beef tenderloin, and even some damn good schnitzel. Keep your eyes peeled. Puck likes to talk up the tables.
