The Hart and the Hunter
Formerly known as “Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing”, this pop-up turner permanent LA outpost has found some new threads in West Hollywood’s Palihotel, this time under the guise of The Hart and the Hunter. Its sleek turquoise tiles, kooky metal chairs and cutlery borrowed from Grandma’s kitchen give this place a real hipster diner vibe. The food is altogether more comfortable, with a real country-slanted southern feel – think chopped steak and bone marrow, fried chicken livers, and country ham and pickles. As of writing, there was no alcohol license or reservations here so make sure to BYOB early to guarantee a seat in this hot LA hangout. (Re the name, it’s from Aesop’s fables, with a message that we often despise what is most useful to us…we’ll let you ponder that over their rich apple dumplings).
