In the heart of TriBall, Madrid’s newly gentrified hotspot, sits Mui Bar, an ultra-modern Tapas Bar looking to add a bit of style and class to your ‘Patatas Bravas’. You’ll have to brave a steep and narrow staircase to get up there, but it’s worth it – at the top you’ll be greeted by Madrid’s answer to a New York speakeasy. It’s all the fun of prohibition without the bootleg booze.
Sister to ‘La Tasquita de Enfrente’ (a more formal, sit down restaurant next door), Mui Bar is the new creation of Juanjo Lopez Bedmar, who’s vision was to provide the same quality dishes as ‘La Tasquita’ but in a trendy bar setting. It’s the classics you’ll be getting here, but revamped and reimagined to make them just that little bit sexier. Think fried squid with a kick of lime zest, or hot green peppers with olive oil served in a pipette.
