With a futuristic, spacey design – right from the impressive staircase that gets you into the club to the bathrooms – Cool is one of the most fashionable places to be seen in the hedonistic Madrid night scene. There’s something for everyone with the nights they put on, starting with Sunflowers on Thursday, which attracts a young and up-for-it crowd who enjoy the commercial house the DJs spin.
Fridays at Cool are Stardust, a polysexual night that’s famed for its outlandish S&M dancers and performances, which play out to a soundtrack of tech house with a hard edge. Then on Saturdays comes Royal, an all-out gay night that’s not for the faint-hearted. Like most clubs in Madrid, there’ll be no one there until about 3am, so best to turn up around 2am to get settled in and avoid the queue.
