Le Garage is a recent addition to Madrid’s high-end restaurants and comes from the hands of two experienced French restaurateurs. That would go some way to explaining the French twang to the name, Le Garage, which is also no doubt influenced by the fact it is set in what was previously a car park. Now the interior is reminiscent of a New York loft-style. The first area you come to is the square bar, complete with neon-tinted chandeliers, while the corridor that takes you through to the dining area at the rear is given over to a sushi bar, complete with chef toiling away with a sharp knife and sea-fresh produce. It’s not all Japanese cuisine though, as the menu includes a slightly curious mix of dishes such as foie gras and langoustines flambéed in cognac. Impeccably dressed business folk swing by on weekdays, while the smart set from Salamanca are in evidence at the weekends.
