Marrakech has finally found a hotel to rival the Amanjena in terms of pure luxury and indulgence – but with a little more intimacy. Originally owners Patrick and Nicole Levillair were looking for somewhere in the south of France but, unable to find the perfect place, they came to Marrakech to unwind. They immediately fell in love it, but rather than buying a property they decided to build somewhere spectacular from scratch.
Ksar Char-Bagh is styled as a 14th-century Moorish palace, and boasts 12 harims (rooms), a hammam, swimming pool, first-class restaurant and roof terraces with showers and Berber tents. It was an immediate success – the Levillairs have bewitched the exclusive clientele that Ksar Char-Bagh was designed to attract.
The rooms are equipped with silk djellabas, bathrobes and toiletries individually fashioned for men and women, and you’ll find intricate ornamentation on everything from pillows to ashtrays, all designed by the owners. Ksar Char-Bagh offers its guests unparalleled comfort and service in romantic and select surroundings – not to mention some of the best food in Marrakech.
