Les Borjs de la Kasbah
Just steps from the Royal Palace in the Kasbah quarter, Les Borjs de la Kasbah is a spacious, amenity-packed oasis made all the more appealing by its budget-friendly price. Clearly the highlight at this four-year-old boutique riad hotel – with public areas enhanced by wrought iron details and coral-hued tadelakt walls – is the 270-square-meter leisure area with heated pool, sundeck, and poolside bar offering the likes of La Kasbah, a citrus-pineapple concoction. Four separate terraces are wrapped around the 18 rooms, which feature conveniences like hairdryers and heated towel racks, phones and widescreen TVs (satellite channels in English compensate for ho-hum furnishings). Breakfast is served buffet style, and the restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner. Those bent on bringing work with them can take advantage of free Wi-Fi in public areas, an office with computer and there’s also a hamman, sauna and spa facilities — serviceable if a touch clinical — on site. Despite being inside the medina, Les Borjs is accessible by taxi and is only a 15 minute walk to the main square.
