Riad Goloboy

You can tell that Riad Goloboy is the creation of an art lover – nay, art collector. Béatrice Faujas has crafted a boutique hotel with undeniable flair. Deep charcoal-esque hues on the wall set off the bright pops of colour from 1950s furniture. Eye-catching art, including pieces from Matisse and French street artist Kouka, lines the walls. And many of the original decorative features of the riad have been lovingly intertwined through it all.

It might be hard to choose which suite to stay in from the eight available, and it would be totally understandable. After all, some of the rooms here, with their bold colour schemes, look like movie sets from a particularly stylish Wes Anderson movie, while others have a certain 1001 Nights sensibility, with lavish Moorish detailing. Indeed, as beautiful as the effect of Riad Goloboy is as a whole, the decadence is in the details. There’s Carrara marble in the floors. The courtyard area is a breathtaking Majorelle blue. And there’s a stunning rooftop area to enjoy, with views out to the Atlas Mountains and over the Mamounia Gardens. Indeed, there’s even a rooftop jacuzzi, if you want to kick the romance up a notch. And all for a very reasonable sum. In fact, if you want lashings of style during your stay and the option of an easy walk to some of Marrakech’s most picture-perfect spots, then Riad Goloboy is a no-brainer.
