This gorgeously designed riad in Marrakech – not to be confused with the more upmarket Villa des Orangers – features seven individually designed suites and bedrooms, all of which have a comfortable, homey feel. The suites in particular are large by medina standards and very good value; décor is contemporary with traditional Moroccan influences such as intricately carved wooden tables and doors and tadelakt bathrooms. There’s a pool in the courtyard framed by high ceilings, pillars and arches, and a living room with a fire if you’re visiting in winter. It’s worth mentioning that the food here is well above average (meals can be enjoyed anywhere in the riad) and the service is good too. Not only is there a full concierge service available from 9am to 10pm daily, but the management are friendly and flexible. Its central locataion in the Mouassine district of the medina – just 400 meters from the main square and 200 meters from the entrance of the souks – makes the location great too. A charming and convenient option.
