Riad Lotus Privilege

Tucked behind a low door at the end of an unassuming alleyway in the Dar Bacha district, Riad Lotus Privilège successfully merges opulence and art in a former 17th century palace. The largest of three properties in the Riad Lotus chain of hotels in Marrakech, the two-story riad has just five rooms facing a central courtyard sprouting with fruit trees and large cactuses – but the two ground floor suites are palatial in size, with soaring ceilings, king-sized four-poster beds, and entire rooms for mini bars. In-house interior designer Antoine Van Doorne is behind the playful pieces that make your stay memorable: a lemon-yellow ball gown sculpture and a large painting of a soldier in full battle dress in a lounge area, a bathroom with mirrored walls and marble tub dripping with marble fruit, and two slightly bazaar mirrored obelisks in the courtyard, where the pool can be heated on demand.

Facilities also include green-toned massage cabins, a Moroccan marble hamman, and a roof terrace. At night, listen to live traditional music while dining on Moroccan and international cuisine in the restaurant, rumored to have one of the best chefs in town. All of the rooms come with air conditioning, phone, mini bar, WI-Fi, Bang & Olufson music systems, and flat screen satellite TVs with CD and DVD players
