Over the last four years Riad Noir D’Ivoire has become one of the most fashionable and desirable places to stay in Marrakesh. Beautifully designed by interiors expert and owner Jill, Riad Noir D’Ivoire is comprised of several suites – the three master suites come with private roof terraces, jacuzzis, sunbeds and an area for al fresco dining (or private candlelit dinners). There are also two normal suites, two junior suites and a couple of double rooms to choose from, all which have working fireplaces, minibars, flat screen TVs, DVD players and Xboxes. There’s a divine 11-metre swimming pool, fully equipped gym and a boutique selling lots of cutting edge designer items as well as an in house hammam and spa – two full-time beauticians work from 2 to 8pm offering personalised facial treatments, massages and lots of other pampering treatments. A piano player tinkles the ivories before dinner and a traditional Moroccan band appear now and again while you dine. The resulting ambience is refined and romantic, and the food, wines (and cocktails) are great too. Jill’s aim is to have the most comprehensive wine list in Marrakech; to that end there’s a small but comprehensive wine cellar, viewed through a glass wall in the cigar room.
