Chez Tante Alice is among the traditional restaurants in Megeve, specialising in Savoyard cuisine – this means an abundance of hearty, and often cheese heavy, dishes – tartiflettes, fondues and charcuterie plates all sourced from producers, often from the same valley. However, there is a twist – and we like twists – it also specialises in Far Eastern cooking, and alongside the warming smell of cheese are sharper smells of ginger, lemongrass and chilli emanating from the kitchen – and rarely for the Alps their stir frys and oriental dishes are actually delicious. The traditional interior and exterior – incorporates pictures of the eponymous founder looking all homely and welcoming.
