Café Nuvó
Café Nuvó is a fabulous little bistro in Miami which takes up two storefronts, spilling out onto the sidewalk with its ruined-Gothic-Cuban/Spanish décor, it would catch the eye of even the most unobservant passer-by. Red wallpaper and patina-layered chandeliers feature on one side, while the other is more casual with old sepia photos and graffiti scribbles. It’s more than a little charming, and doesn’t quite reek of tourist bait as some of the others on the block do. What you’ll find on the menu is Mediterranean in ancestry, but on the whole not particularly expensive. Just as many people come here to drink as to eat, since they have many choices in the mojito category. The restaurant even offers a pet menu, a decidedly odd but quirkily welcome touch. More substantial fare can be found here, too, but it’s just as easy – and cheaper – to take in the café’s wonderful atmosphere through a late lunch or a stay at the bar.
