Get your glow sticks out of the freezer and slot them in the suitcase beside the sunglasses and tight vest. It’s a good thing that Downtown Miami is a deserted place on a Sunday morning because the rooftop sunrise session on the terrace at Space cranks out the trance beats until mid-morning.
rnDowntown is the only part of Miami that issues 24-hour liquor licences, and at the weekends Space is its answer to Ibiza, attracting the ‘Royal Family of Djs’. Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk are regulars, while Paul Oakenfold, Sasha and John Digweed also make guest appearances.
rnThe main dance-floor is surrounded by bars, illuminated by state-of-the-art lighting systems and overlooked by the VIPs in the upper mezzanine level, and there’s a rooftop terrace for sunrise lovers on the second floor with two further VIP areas.
rnTo be added to the VIP admission list, go to Space’s website. Leave the white gloves at home, though; apparently they went out of fashion years ago.
