The Espirito Santo Plaza building, a 36-story structure built of concave glass, is unquestionably the sexiest building in the Downtown area. The Conrad Miami hotel, housed inside it, is every bit as seductive, first thrilling the guest with its 25th floor Sky Lobby and its 11-level atrium, then with the spectacular views afforded from The Bar. With its shiny lemon barstools, high-backed open booths and daily bar specials, it is the cream of the Downtown hotel bar scene.
The 203 rooms represent a harmonious mix of contrasting elements of glass, wood, leather and metal. All have huge windows featuring cityscape and/or Biscayne Bay views – even, in most cases, from the marble bathrooms – and are adorned with mega-count linens, flat screen TVs, Bose sound-systems and the latest business amenities. Even though the Conrad is a really a Hilton in luxury boutique attire, it’s all been carried out without a corporate feel, and exceedingly well.
