Hg2 : The Hedonist

The Dutch

The Dutch, sitting in the ultra-hip W South Beach, is the product of a collaboration of New York chefs and restaurateurs, headed by chef Andrew Carmellini. Open throughout the day the menu features fresh fish, shellfish and the best local produce sourced from the sea around Florida. The dishes draw on a range of influences from Caribbean to Morocco, the Gulf Coast to Italy. They are unfussy and inspired by neighbourhood cooking from bistos to seaside shacks and roadhouses in an ode to Americana.

Carmellini made a name for himself as chef de cuisine under Daniel Boulud at Cafe Boulud, his own restaurant in Madison Square Park earned him a Michelin star. The combination of him and Miami-based designers Masri and Siervo has brought a little laid-back NYC cool to the high-profile glamour of SoBe.
