Hg2 : The Hedonist

Bay of Pigs Museum

One of the more interesting museums in Miami, The Bay of Pigs Museum tells the story of how Cuban exiles in Miami were trained by the CIA for a top secret mission to invade Cuba in April 1961. The 1,300-strong force was met by the Cuban army after landing in the Bay of Pigs (Bahia de Cochinos).

Around 100 were killed, and the rest were captured and imprisoned. Gloria Estefan’s father was one of the men captured. The survivors returned to the US in 1962.
