Emporio Armani Caffe
Of all of Milan’s cafés, this is the one for ‘seeing and be seen’. Of course, it’s most effective if you’re conspicuously laden with Armani shopping bags, and since the Armani Caffe` is just on the corner of ‘Armani-ville’ (Via Manzoni 31), it’s not a far distance to totter. Inside, a sharp young crowd with lapdogs and sunglasses dose up on vitamin juices. There’s also a good selection of hot drinks and coffees, snack food and main courses, but since there are few fashionable cafe?s so centrally located, seats can be hard to procure and service can be forgetful. There’s always the first-floor restaurant (Armani’s second after Nobu), but the cafe?, a cream cubic space with a cubic, steel island bar, filled with requisite Armani Casa minimalist furniture and enlarged Armani campaign pictures, has the edge on atmosphere and people-watching.
