T’a Milano Store & Bistro
Any self-respecting pastry lover back in the day knew the name Alemagna, one of Italy’s most loved pastry shops. Although no longer owned by the Alemagnas (they sold it before the new millennium dawned), the family’s legacy remains – today in the form of brothers Tancredi and Alberto who created their own artisanal chocolate business, T’a Milano. Not content to simply offer the city they love chocolatey goodness, the pair expanded their delicious empire before long. Enter: T’a Milano Store & Bistro.
Today, as the name suggests, T’a Milano – found right in the centre of Milan – encompasses their flagship store, as well as a gourmet bistro, serving fine Italian fare. Open throughout the day, T’a Milano is particularly popular when aperitivo time rolls around. And it’s not hard to see why. In addition to the delicious food and drink on offer, the space offers oodles of style. Gleaming burnished metal accents, mirrors and sumptuous sapphire-toned velvet upholstery characterize the space, thanks to the design savvy of local architect Vincenzo de Cotiis. Chandeliers descend from the ceiling, and the cool, calm heft of marble lines the floor. It’s a luxurious combination. Made even more appealing with the realisation that you can swing past the store and pick up a box of their signature chocolates on the way out.
