Maki Cafe
Maki is an affordable and ideal café in central Moscow, it’s the perfect refuge from the busy shopping street, Tverskaya.
The well-known St Petersburg interior designer Andrei Dmitriyev has created an open-plan, New York City warehouse-style establishment – the high ceilings, big frosted windows, exposed brickwork, clear glass lanterns and dark wooden furniture and floorboards make it simple and understated.
Downstairs you can perch at the long candlelit bar, watching the cocktails being made, or sink back on one of many big sofas. The atmosphere is cool and relaxed, with piped lounge music and jazz. The food is excellent and extremely good value for money – business lunch is offered between midday and 3pm for just 260 roubles and between 5pm and 7pm there is a happy hour, with 50% off – you really can’t go wrong!
