Hg2 : The Hedonist

Correa’s No. 1

Reservations are a must if you’re bidding for one of the seven black wooden tables in this small eatery. Tucked away on Bolshaya Gruzinskaya, between Tverskaya and the Moscow zoo, Correa’s No. 1 was opened in 2003 by the American chef Isaac Correa (formerly of Uley, and pioneer of fusion cooking in Moscow).
rn
rnThe simple atmosphere is about one thing: food – from the sensuous aromas to the planter filled with oranges and apples that divides the deli counter from the dining area. The deli caters for breakfast between 8am and 11am and serves everything from American muffins to a full English – ideal for hangovers.
rn
rnFor lunch, delicious focaccia bread, thin crust pizzas and salads comprise most of the menu. Or stop by in the afternoon for one of Correa’s famous pastries and a freshly squeezed juice.
rn
rnYou can either take away from the deli counter or, if you’re feeling particularly decadent, order a delivery. The good news is that if you can’t get in here, there is a Correa’s No. 2 at Bolshaya Ordynka Ulitsa 40.
