Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie
Undoubtedly named after the Luis Bunuel film, Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie has everything – delicious food at reasonable prices and a great atmosphere.
The interior’s exposed brick arches, floor-to-ceiling windows and candlelit balcony lend themselves to snugness and romance. As it’s open around the clock, you can breakfast, lunch or dine here and, with its own resident DJ from 9pm every evening, it provides the perfect pre- or post-party hang-out.
The comfort-food menu includes soups, salads, omelettes, pizzas and the ever-present sushi, as well as deliciously healthy smoothies. Best of all it is surprisingly cheap – $15 for a bottle of wine is unheard of in this city. This centrally located chill-out haven is the answer, whatever your mood.
