Vogue Café
The joint venture of the Vogue publisher, Condé Nast, and Moscow’s successful restaurateur, Arkady Novikov, has resulted in this stylish and fashionable eaterie.
The interior, designed by Ann Boyd, provides a cosy yet chic atmosphere, with walls covered with black-and-white photographs telling fashion stories and shelves crammed with back editions of Vogue.
The café is more popular than the dining room, but whatever you choose this for, its perfect location, on the corner of Kuznetsky Most, is ideal for a snack before the Bolshoi or just to see and be seen. The clientele is very European and undoubtedly models are drawn back to their spiritual home.
You may feel that you are on the catwalk as you arrive, and the staff seem to have the attitudes of supermodels, which isn’t the best recipe for efficiency, but this is a classic yet modern, sophisticated yet relaxed environment and definitely the place to strike a pose.
