Golden Ring Hotel
This five-star, 23-storey hotel, the Golden Ring, takes its name from the ring of ancient towns outside Moscow. But the hotel itself is far from historical, having been totally renovated and refurbished in 1998.
rnThe Golden Ring is located in the Arbatskaya area, which is also home to several excellent restaurants and some first-rate shopping, as well as the pedestrianized Old Arbat Ulitsa where souvenir stalls and street performers abound.
rnThe hotel’s 293 rooms are large, comfortably furnished and air-conditioned with efficient, friendly and welcoming service, so it’s popular with business travellers.
rnThe aptly named ‘Panorama’ restaurant, located on the top floor, commands fantastic views over Moscow by day and night, particularly of the Foreign Affairs Ministry – one of Stalin’s ‘wedding-cake’ skyscrapers, and down Kutuzovsky.
