Hg2 : The Hedonist

Paname

Paname is an intimate Parisian brasserie off some of Moscow’s busiest shopping streets.

The name comes from a slang word for Paris. This cosy French bistro is tucked away in a basement, through an archway, in a quiet courtyard off the busy cobbled shopping street, Stoleshnikov. As you might have gathered, it’s a little tricky to find but it’s well worth the effort.
rn
rnOnce through the curtains, you are immediately transported: café-style chairs and faux-leather booths, an Art Nouveau painted ceiling and wood panelling, mirrors and enlarged photographs of turn-of-the-century Paris on the yellow-hued walls, are complemented by Edith Piaf warbling in the background.
rn
rnThe reasonably priced menu is classic French cuisine, and the service is warm and friendly. It makes a change to some of the more ‘gastronomique’ restaurants that the city has to offer.
