The Bagel Shop
‘Bread for your Head’ as the sign reads outside and we couldn’t agree more. Housed in an old Portuguese villa in Bandra, there’s kooky décor – retro posters and crazy old auntie lamps- as well as plenty of comfy wicker chairs strewn about making it feel a bit like an urban beach shack.
On offer are of course, bagels – multi-grain, wheat, poppy, garlic and plain – with literally hundreds of filling options, as well as salads and coffees. Come here when you’re aching for an alternative to the traditional buffet breakfast. As soon as you step through the doors you’ll notice that the atmosphere is very chilled out, which makes the setting immediately tranquil.
The air-conditioned section has low comfy seating and there’s outdoor seating as well – but be warned unless it’s cool, or late, the humidity and the traffic outside will ruin this definitive Bombay bagel experience. Dogs are welcome here, which is a rare treat in Mumbai – and adds to the appeal for canine loving locals.
