Hg2 : The Hedonist

Trident Bandra Kurla

The majority of the hotels in Mumbai are spread between the new airport location and to the south of the city, and for the uninitiated it can be hard to decide. If you’re unsure, head here to Trident Bandra Kurla as it’s roughly in-between the two. This is a large hotel, to say the least, with 436-rooms, yet it does feel intimate despite its size.

Stepping into the lobby, guests are met with bright colours, plenty of natural light, a gorgeous gold Jali wall and beautiful bronze sculptures. Guestrooms have pale oak-wood flooring and save for the odd splash of colour things are kept minimalist. The bathrooms are spacious and have glass walls, while some come with freestanding bathtubs. Expect the usual treats – personal bar, LCD television and DVD player, wired and wireless Internet access, and a radio alarm clock with iPod connectivity

The dining at the Trident Bandra Kurla really stands out and is popular with locals who know a thing or two about dining in the city. 022 – named after Mumbai’s telephone code – offers international dishes, while Maya offers spicy Indian delicacies. Both are hot tables.
