Britannia
A really lovely old-school Persian restaurant in Fort that has changed little since Independence. Founded in 1923 by the current owner’s father, Britannia looks as if it is in need of some serious TLC with peeling paint and a hand-written white board menu, but it’s a veneer that hides some of Mumbai’s best Iranian cuisine, well-known across the city and especially the wonderful berry pulau (where the berries are imported from Iran).
The loyal fan base of regulars can be as old as the restaurant itself. Be sure to bring cash as they haven’t quite graduated to credit cards yet.
