Masala Bay is one of the best restaurants in Mumbai – why? Let us count the ways.
Firstly, the food: there is no greasy, over-spiced Indian fare here only carefully-cooked, easy-on-the-eye (and the waist-line) dishes. The female chef that heads-up the kitchen is a masala miracle maker – if we could afford to take her home, we would. We’d recommend two starters, two mains and two desserts or a happy-to-share companion.
Secondly, the location: Masala Bay is in the Taj Lands End, Bandra, one of our favourite hotels in the city, and this has many benefits. Before dinner you can have a tipple in the stylish lobby lounge, maybe listen to some live jazz, and after you can float up in the lift to the restaurant, which is glass-walled and allows excellent people-watching. And that alone is priceless.
