Moshe’s winning formula – chefs who’ve trained at top hotels, a delicious deli counter and plenty of creamy pastas and hearty soups – has been so successful that there are now several branches throughout the city. This one, on Cuffe Parade, is probably the best in a charming old bungalow in the heart of south Mumbai.
Natural wood flooring and high ceilings create space, and there’s al fresco dining if the humidity isn’t too much. Moshe’s is popular with ladies who lunch and the Mumbai brat-pack, come here for tasty and authentic Mediterranean dishes and small plates of nibbles.
A little pricey perhaps, but when the nearby hawkers have squeezed every last ounce of sanity from you it’s a welcome respite.
