Located just outside the city limits, Crabby Jack’s lunch joint is the offsite kitchen for the immensely popular Jacques-Imo’s Café. The lunch-only spot packs in workers, students from the nearby universities, and anyone passing by who appreciates good food. Crabby Jack’s serves many of the dishes from Jacques-Imo’s Café but at half the price and without the two-hour wait. Try the blackened Gulf fish with chipotle hollandaise or the fried chicken made with the recipe of the late, great chef Austin Leslie (CBS created a sitcom in the 1980s about Leslie called Frank’s Place). Fried seafood and po’ boys dominate the menu, which includes an unbeatable shredded duck po’ boy.
