Mahoney’s Po-Boy Shop
Insisting on fresh, local ingredients is nothing new. Plenty of chefs refuse to serve anything not made from scratch. It’s rare, though, that anyone lavishes so much care on a po’ boy, New Orleans’ classic sandwich served on a flaky French loaf. At Mahoney’s, the dressings are housemade, the crawfish are only available in season, and the fries and onion rings are hand cut. The friendly po’ boy shop decorated with old Tulane and LSU football posters has quickly become a favourite of New Orleanians who appreciate a perfectly made po’ boy. And that’s pretty much everyone in town.
