A swirling constellation decorates the ceiling and painted Egyptian motifs fill the walls at the Blue Nile. There is nothing otherworldly, though, about the live music here. The club books the best of the New Orleans scene, from funky brass bands to coquettish jazz crooners. On the weekends, a DJ spins tunes in the second-floor lounge. This is a local favourite for live music. The closest thing to tourists are college students venturing down from their Uptown campuses. Best of all, there’s plenty of room for dancing.
