The Metropolitan
Come Saturday night, those who want to dance in New Orleans head to The Metropolitan in the Lower Garden District. At around 36,000 square feet, it’s safe to say that The Metropolitan is a pretty vast warehouse club. And one that locals love for its great music and electric atmosphere. Past artists who’ve played here include the likes of Disco Fries, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Snoop Dog, and Sophia Lin. And that’s just a handful of the talented folks who’ve kept the dancing going until the early hours.
The music varies, with everything from Top 40 to dubstep, house to pop expected. And you can trust that it’ll be just the right volume (loud) to transport and entertain. The lighting, from the ornate chandeliers above to the strobe lighting above the dancefloor, is spot on. Plus, The Metropolitan really knows how to pull out all the stops for its VIPs. Aside from letting VIPs breeze past the punters queueing outside to get in, there’s a dedicated ‘Experience’ that VIP party-goers can reserve and VIP areas dotted through the club, from the Main Room to the Big Room Balcony, which overlooks the action on the first floor. All that’s left to consider is – bottle service, anyone?
