Acme Oyster House
No matter what day of the week, the queue of people waiting to order a plate of seafood at Acme Oyster House always stretches out the door. The oysters are dispensed with skill by the shuckers and then brought to your table by the dozen. Mix your own cocktail sauce (ketchup, lemon, hot sauce, and horseradish) and order a cold Abita beer, the preferred local brew, to wash them down. Acme serves a full range of fried seafood and even offers some non-seafood items for the fish-phobic. Most of the crowd is from out of town, but Acme is that rare place that kept its standards even after the locals have left – a definite must-visit restaurant in New Orleans.
