Ralph’s on the Park
The oaks of the adjacent City Park provide the perfect scenery for diners gazing out the windows of this charming Brennan family establishment, aptly named Ralph’s on the Park. Far from the tourist centres, Ralph’s proclaims that it’s “by locals for locals.” New Orleanians ranging from young professionals to fun-loving older couples flock to Ralph’s. The beautifully restored restaurant, however, is more than happy to welcome a few guests. The menu includes Creole classics prepared with a lighter, more modern touch, such as BBQ shrimp or drum (a luscious Gulf fish) topped with lump crabmeat. The window seats on the first floor and the tables next to the second-floor balcony are the most requested.
