Found in the heart of the French Quarter, SoBou is a much-loved New Orleans restaurant and bar with a flurry of awards and accolades to its name, for everything from its gin cocktails to its beignets. Chef Juan Carlos Gonzalez’s accomplished food moves from Pumpkin Spice Pancakes at brunch through to a Foie Gras Burger (served with a sunny side up egg and duck bacon on brioche with a foie gras ice cream float) at dinner, with all manner of comfort food classics, Louisiana street food and Spanish-influenced dishes along the way.

Self-consciously styled as a Creole saloon, the atmosphere at SoBou is vibrant and bustling, fuelled by cocktails like the Taylor Bird Sazerac; a potent concoction of rye, brandy, bitters and Steen’s cane syrup with an absinthe/herbsaint rinse and a twist of lemon. Not to mention self-serve wine dispensers and table top beer taps – a sure way to kick the night off right in New Orleans.
