The Standard Grill
Housed in hotelier Andre Balazs’ The Standard Hotel in the Meatpacking District, The Standard Grill has created quite the buzz. It is split into multiple sections offering diners numerous seating options to suit their every desire – a bar area leads to a more intimate dining room with red-leathered alcoves. The restaurant pulls a head-turning crowd from New York’s elite, and it is the super-skinny fashion pack who are the restaurant’s most baffling fans considering the food is quite so delicious.
With his wealth of culinary knowledge and experience, chef Dan Silverman uses fresh ingredients and offers classic dishes with an added touch, making for a truly memorable culinary experience. Although the ‘Million Dollar’ whole roast chicken or the root vegetable bread pudding are sure to satisfy anybody’s hunger, the desert menu with its ‘The Deal Closer’ (a bowl of bittersweet chocolate mousse with whipped cream) is a particular favourite, so be sure to leave room!
