Kiehl’s Spa 1851
Taking its name from the year Kiehl’s stepped onto the scene as an apothecary, Spa 1851 is a beacon for health and beauty in New York’s Lenox Hill neighbourhood, beckoning those in need of relaxation (and waxing) to its calm, serene embrace. And there’s still an old-world feel about it, although the actual surroundings are contemporary from the gleam of the white tiled walls to the warm glow of the suspended chandeliers.
Guests at Kiehl’s Spa 1851 can indulge in any number of bespoke treatments, with many already knowing the exact products they want to use. Kiehl’s is, after all, a name spoken with hushed breath; favoured by skincare specialists, beauty junkies and celebrities alike, Kiehl’s is a cult beauty brand if ever there was one.
There are facials offering to deep cleanse pores, correct clarity and generally rejuvenate and refresh your skin. Deep-tissue massages, body polishes and peels are on the menu too. There are now even express treatments; ideal if you want the Kiehl’s experience but don’t have the time. But whatever your treatment of choice, you’re pretty much guaranteed to leave with a glow (whether or not you opted for a facial), plenty of samples, and a spring in your step.
