A zinc bar as long as a bendy bus, which serves connoisseurs’ bottled beers and expertly concocted cocktails: mojitos, daiquiris and some lesser-known humdingers made with premium booze such as Bombay Sapphire or Stolichnaya.

The split-level interior doesn’t look like much, but up-to-the-minute styling is irrelevant to the crowds of party people who appreciate Le Brébant’s excellent opening times – it’s a favourite post-clubbing pitstop for a club sandwich – and its even more thoughtful Happy Hour, every day between 7pm and 9pm when all drinks, including those mojito royales, are half price.

The mishmash of coloured steel chairs, red banquettes, wrought iron curlicues and bare lightbulbs is somewhat naff; the dance music on the sound system is spot-on for the Grands Boulevards locale, near Social Club and Rex (see Party).
