Les Editeurs
For wholesome classicists, this library/restaurant/bar,
located halfway between the Seine and the Jardin du Luxembourg, will seem
natural and right, with its smart wooden panelling, spruce red leather chairs
and highbrow references everywhere you glance. Hungover Romantics should find
it even more of a tonic – there’s nothing like a literary-leaning brunch to
repair broken spirits. As well as wines by the glass, carafe and bottle, you
can order croque monsieur or madame on pain bio, grilled baguette with feta, tsatski and taramasalata, or a full
restorative monty of onion soup and steak tartare. Les Editeurs is, naturally,
a great place to sit with a book or a newspaper, and is much frequented by the
publishing-industry bigwigs for whom it is named.
