Mathis Bar is the little black door that everyone looks for when they’re in town – packed with A-listers who get a knowing wink as they pass through the entrance into this tiny but luxuriously plush space in the uber-sexy Hotel Mathis. Entourages are as discouraged as normality, and the up close and personal atmosphere and boudoir dressing adds a raw sexuality to the place.

If you’re after admission, arrive early and look the part. Try the non-descript door just beside the hotel’s entrance and see if you can butter up Gerard, the owner.
